Ways of Protecting Your Teeth When at Work Where You Cannot Brush
Getting out a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and mouthwash at work may not be convenient, and in some instances, it is not even possible. However, there are times where you need to clean your teeth, so what do you do? Here are a few tips that can help. Each of them can be done while at work or simply on a busy day where you are not at home to brush just after eating.

Protect Your Teeth with These Simple Tips:

Wherever you go, bring water with you. It helps to rinse your mouth out when you eat anything, and it helps to wash down the bacteria that want to break down your enamel. The more water you drink, the better.

Also, when you go out or go to work, pack snacks that help your teeth. Grab a small bag of fresh produce to nibble on during the day, like celery, carrots, apples, and pears. These fruits can help clean your teeth while eating, making them nutritious and tooth-healthy snacks. When possible, pack a salad for lunch at work. Eating the fresh produce is also great for protecting your teeth between times of being able to brush.

Your teeth are valuable and need to be taken care of throughout the day. However, that is not always possible depending on where you are. When it isn't possible, follow these tips. They can make caring for your teeth a lot easier.

COVID-19 and Dentistry
The entire country has been impacted by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) in ways we did not imagine. Mandated business closures, social distancing, stay at home orders, and other precautions have been implemented to help slow the spread of the disease. We have always kept your health a top priority; following all sanitation guidelines and other procedures to keep you safe. These efforts are even more important today.

What Causes Tooth Sensitivity?
Naturally occurring enamel protects the teeth and cementum protects the roots. The underlying dentin is a less dense system of microscopic tubes and canals. If the enamel or cementum is reduced, heat and cold more easily stimulate the nerves and can cause sensitivity.

There are several dental problems that can cause tooth sensitivity:
• cavities
• fractured or cracked teeth
• worn tooth enamel
• exposed tooth roots

Regular check-ups can help prevent these issues and detect them early if they do occur. However, if you currently are experiencing tooth sensitivity, the first step is to review proper brushing technique and try a desensitizing toothpaste. If the sensitivity continues, make an appointment to come in for an assessment. In some cases, fluoride gels can strengthen tooth enamel and bonding agents can seal problem tooth roots.
